The 2026 Ontario Novice Tournament marked an important milestone for Patra Boxing, as Ethan Champagne and Francesco Pazienza became the first two athletes to represent the team in competition.
Three Days of Competition in London
Held August 21–23 at the BMO Centre in London, Ontario, the tournament brought together novice boxers from across Ontario and beyond for three days of competition.
Months of Preparation
For Ethan and Francesco, however, the tournament represented much more than stepping into the ring.
Both athletes had spent months preparing for the opportunity. Countless rounds of training, sparring, conditioning and drilling went into getting ready for their competitive debuts. There were difficult sessions, mistakes to correct and plenty of learning along the way, but both continued to show up and put in the work.
That work paid off.
